FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
TriValley Primary Care Expands Geriatric Services in Local Retirement Communities
Perkasie, PAWith the addition of two full-time nurse practitionersDebra Carroll, CRNP and Robin Drowne, CRNP-- the physicians of TriValley Primary Care have expanded geriatric medical services at several area retirement communities.
Debra Carroll has worked with TriValley physicians in geriatric patient care for over nine years and helped establish the new program. Nurse practitioners bring an added level of availability to patients in the retirement communities, especially in the skilled care and assisted living settings, comments Carroll. We collaborate with our physicians to assess and treat patients quickly without taking them away from home.
The groups physicians also welcome Robin Drowne, CRNP to the TriValley Primary Care team. Robert Motley, M.D., the physician coordinator for TriValleys geriatric program, has this to say about their new provider: Robin has over ten years experience in the care of adults, especially in cardiovascular care. Having her join Deb Carroll in full-time geriatric care will allow them to be available to several of the retirement communities on a day-to-day basissomething that is not currently possible with the physicians alone.
The nurse practitioners will assist their physicians on routine patient visits in the skilled nursing and assisted living settings. In addition, the practitioners will be available on-site to do check-ups and to see patients who become ill, especially those who cant get out to their physicians office. Debra Carroll and Robin Drowne also plan to offer educational seminars for nurses at the retirement communities. Since both of us have nursing backgrounds, we know that nurses in long-term care face unique challenges in serving the elderly with skill and compassion. We want to share our knowledge and experience with them, says Drowne.
Four retirement communities, including Peter Becker Community, Dock Woods Community, Souderton Mennonite Community and Lutheran Community at Telford, have worked with TriValley to expand services on their campuses.
TriValley Primary Care, composed of 27 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners, is a leading regional primary care group with seven office locations serving Lansdale, Harleysville, Souderton, Telford, Pennsburg, Perkasie and Quakertown. The physicians Corporate Office is in Perkasie.
