Clinical Support Team:

The Clinical Support team is a group of professionals dedicated to providing quality healthcare to our patients. This team participates in patient care by assisting the physician, performing various nursing tasks, and acting as a communication link between the patient, the physician and other healthcare providers in the community.

Various nursing tasks may include: pre-visit planning, recording patient vital signs, prepare exam rooms, perform EKG’s, provide patient education, prepare lab requisitions & other required paperwork, prioritize & return phone calls to patients, refer patients to emergency or urgent care as directed by supervising clinician, exhibits independent clinical judgement in daily activities and can function as a medical triage agent as needed. Additional tasks that may be required: assess patient & current condition via phone, recommend self-care utilizing knowledge of over-the-counter medication and telephonic case management of patients as deemed appropriate by the primary care physician.

Successful candidate must have a current PA nursing license in good standing (LPN or RN) or they must be certified as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants, National Association of Health Professionals, American Medical Technologists Institute of Education or the equivalent.

Clinical Team Supervisor:

The Clinical Team Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all office clinical personnel and for monitoring the quality of care given by them. They also serve as a liaison between the physician staff and the Clinical personnel.

Some of the supervisor tasks include: maintaining staff work schedule, hiring, firing, promotion/demotion of staff, evaluations, recommends raises/merit pay, counsel & coaches personnel, trains & orients new personnel, recommends changes to work flows & work processes. Their primary skill set should also include the abilities to be a spokesperson for the Clinical Staff, work with a variety of personalities, problem solve and delegate.

Successful candidate must have a current PA nursing license in good standing (LPN or RN) or they must be certified as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants, National Association of Health Professionals, American Medical Technologists Institute of Education or the equivalent.

Care Managers:

The Care Manager is responsible for providing patient outreach and care coordination for patients with moderate to complex medical needs under minimal supervision.

Tasks will include: identifying targeted high risk patients via PCP referral, risk stratification, insurance reports & discharge reports, will coordinate in a patient-centric manner to maximize the patient’s quality of care in a cost effective way, develop care plans with input from PCP, patient, family & other health care teams, monitor highest risk patients with regular outreach, manage a caseload of approximately 100 patients, and provide targeted interventions to avoid hospitalization & emergency room visits. Additional tasks that are required: participate in team meetings & Care Management training sessions, provide PCP with patient assessments & recommendations, maintain required documentation for care management activities, provide patients with self-management support and additional duties relevant to patient care as requested by PCP.

Billing Support:

The Billing Support staff is responsible for posting insurance and patients payments to patient accounts.

Tasks may include: sort & open mail, prepare monies for bank deposit, enter appropriate payments, adjustments & comments in the accounts receivable system, resubmits requests to insurance companies, follows up on insurance rejections, responds to telephone inquiries from patients & insurance companies regarding account activity, and researching credit balances.

Successful candidate will know how to appropriately allocate payments to accounts, when & how to do adjustments while posting payments, and ensure accuracy & completeness of information being processed.

Administrative Support Team:

The Administrative Support Team is responsible for greeting patients, registering patients, collecting fees, answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, opening & processing daily mail, and scanning correspondence & documents for electronic filing in the patients electronic medical record.

Other tasks may include: registering new patients, updating current patient database, web-enabling patients for patient portal access, routes calls as necessary, creates telephone encounters & documents them properly, educates patients regarding corporate policies & procedures, answers questions regarding patient billing & payments, processes transfers of patient records, maintains access to registry, capitation payments, and web-based population management tools.

Successful candidate must have good phone voice & manners, ability to ask patients for money, able to handle several tasks at one time, be self-motivated & organized, have a basic knowledge of windows-based computers and some knowledge of medical terminology.

Administrative Team Supervisor:

The Administrative Team Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all administrative personnel and for monitoring the quality of work done by them. They also serve as a liaison between the physician staff and the Administrative personnel.

Supervisor tasks to include: maintaining staff work schedule, hiring, firing, promotion/demotion of staff, evaluations, recommends raises/merit pay, counsel & coaches personnel, trains & orients new personnel, recommends changes to work flows & work processes. Their primary skill set should also include the abilities to be a spokesperson for the Administrative Staff, work with a variety of personalities, problem solve and delegate.

Successful candidate must be able to cover office hours & workload with appropriate staff, recommend change when difficulties arise, organize & present staff meetings, perform functions in a timely, professional manner, and continue on-going effectual communication amongst staff, physicians, and practice administrator.
